Dejan Kršić (CRO)

Dejan Kršić was born in Sarajevo in 1961. He graduated art history and ethnology at Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. He is a graphic designer, writer and translator, member of HDD (Croatian Designer’s Society). Since 2008 he teaches graphic design at Department of visual communications at UMAS, Split, Croatia.

He had several solo and group exhibitions in Zagreb, Ljubljana, Rijeka, and Belgrade… and had participated at many collective exhibitions (Youth Salon, Zagreb salon, ZGRAF, Annual exhibitions of Croatian design 01,02, 03; Type Directors Club…) as well as at video festivals in Zagreb, Belgrade, and Sarajevo…

In 1990s he was one of the founders and later editor-in-chief of Arkzin biweekly newspaper/magazine and Arkzin’s book publishing project Bastard edition.
Since 2000 he is a member of NGO for visual culture What, How and for Whom/WHW.

Dejan is the author of the book Boris Bućan – Croatian painter and designer who was awarded the lifetime achievements award from the Croatian Designer’s Society. He is also the author of a monograph Mirko Ilić - comics / illustration / design / multimedia and the curator of the accompanying retrospective exhibition Mirko Ilić - comics / illustration / design / multimedia; and the author of the exhibition Fragments from the opus of Mihajlo Arsovski. At the moment he is preparing the monograph Mihajlo Arsovski.

His design works were published in magazines Eye (UK), Print (USA), AIGA journal (USA), Step (USA), Kak (Russia); and books Mirko Ilić & Steven Heller: “Genius Moves - 100 Icons of Graphic Design”, "Two Colour Graphic", Milton Glaser & Mirko Ilić: “Design of Dissent”, Timoty Samara: “Publication Design Workbook”; Rick Poynor: “Designing Pornotopia: Travels in Visual Culture"; Mirko Ilić & Steven Heller: “Anatomy of Design”...

He was awarded by the Croatian Designers Society on the 0708 exhibition, 2008, for the best design of visual communications in the professional category for the book “Mirko Ilić - comics / illustration / design / multimedia 1975-2008”.
